The Valve Proving System checks whether the main gas valves remain tight when closed. The test is performed automatically before or after the operating cycle, depending on the system.
Basic principle
The system monitors the pressure in the space between the two valves.
What failure means
If the pressure changes beyond the permissible limit within the specified time, the system assumes that there is a potential internal leak.
It does not always mean a faulty valve
The problem may also be related to a test line, pressure switch, or the connection of the proving system.
Safety
Valve proving failure cannot be bypassed. The cause must be identified and rectified before restarting.
