Small impulse and pilot lines transmit pressure information or control the operation of a pilot-operated regulator.

Impulse line

Transmits downstream pressure to the sensing element of the regulator.

Pilot line

Participates in the pressure control that moves the main mechanism of the regulator.

Common problems

Clogging, kinking, leakage, or condensate can provide a false signal and cause hunting or incorrect output pressure.

Maintenance

The lines must remain clean, leak-tight, and correctly connected to the designated pressure sensing points.
