Many regulators feature a vent connection that communicates with the diaphragm chamber or other internal components. This line must remain unobstructed and correctly positioned.
Why is there a vent?
It allows the reference side of the diaphragm to function correctly with respect to atmospheric pressure or to direct any potential relief to a safe location.
What happens if it becomes clogged?
A blocked vent line can seriously affect pressure regulation.
What does the presence of gas mean?
If there is a continuous presence of gas in the vent line, it may indicate a problem with the diaphragm or an internal seal.
Periodic inspection
Check for free passage, mechanical condition, and the safe positioning of the termination point.
