Closed-loop brine-water geothermal: how it works

The brine-water heat pump uses a closed underground circuit with water and a suitable antifreeze solution to extract heat from the ground.

Closed circuit

The liquid circulates in underground pipes and does not come into direct contact with groundwater.

Stable source

The ground temperature is more stable than that of the outside air, so efficiency fluctuates less during the winter.

Basic requirement

Proper sizing of the geothermal heat exchanger is required so that the ground temperature around the circuit does not drop excessively.
