When a heat pump shows unstable performance, checking sensors and automations should be done in an organized manner.
1. Temperatures
Compare outdoor air, supply, return, and other critical readings with an independent measurement.
2. Water flow and pressure
Check the flow switch/sensor and pressure sensor.
3. Thermostat inputs
Confirm that heating/cooling demands are correctly reaching the controller.
4. Communications
Check Modbus/BMS signals, addresses, and communication errors.
5. Trends
Record actual values to observe the sequence before and after an alarm or unwanted stop.
