The safety valve protects the heating circuit from excessive pressure. If it is dripping, it must be determined whether it opened due to actual overpressure or if it has worn out.

High pressure

A problem with the expansion vessel or overfilling can increase the pressure and trigger the valve.

Debris on the seat

After opening, small particles may prevent it from closing completely.

Valve wear

Over time, the seat can wear out, resulting in a continuous minor leak.

Do not block the outlet

The safety valve outlet should not be blocked to stop the water. The root cause must be corrected.
