Proper ventilation affects the safety and correct operation of a natural gas appliance. Requirements depend on the type of appliance and how it receives combustion air.
Combustion air
Some appliances use air from the room, while others have a closed chamber and draw air from the external environment.
Permanent openings
Where required, ventilation openings must remain unobstructed and must not be closed for thermal insulation or aesthetic reasons.
Exhaust hoods
Powerful fans or exhaust hoods can create negative pressure and affect appliances that draw air from the room.
Do not improvise
The size and location of the openings are not chosen arbitrarily. The study and the appliance's instructions must be followed.
Practical check
During maintenance, it is confirmed that the openings are clean and have not been blocked or reduced.
