The turbine meter uses the rotation speed of a turbine to calculate the natural gas flow rate.
Measuring principle
Gas passes through the meter and rotates the rotor. The rotation speed is related to the flow rate.
Flow profile
Accuracy is affected by turbulence or non-uniform flow. For this reason, correct installation and, where specified, an appropriate straight pipe section before and after the meter are required.
Operating range
Each turbine meter has a minimum and maximum flow rate. Very low flow may not be measured with the same accuracy.
Maintenance
The condition of the bearings, the cleanliness of the gas, and the absence of mechanical stress affect long-term operation.
