Gas solenoid valves do not all open the same way. Depending on the application, fast or controlled slow opening may be used.

Fast opening

The valve opens quickly when it receives a command. Its application depends on the burner design.

Slow opening

The flow rate increases in a more controlled manner during start-up to limit the sudden intake of fuel.

Why it is used

The choice relates to the ignition behavior, the burner geometry, and the manufacturer's requirements.

Adjustment

The time or initial flow rate are not changed arbitrarily. They are adjusted only according to the manual and with a combustion analysis.
