Commissioning a gas train and pressure regulator: which setpoints should be checked

After the installation or major maintenance of a gas train, an organized commissioning must be performed before it is put into regular operation.

Inlet pressure

The upstream pressure is recorded at low and high load.

It is confirmed that the downstream pressure remains stable and within the permissible limits.

The setpoints and the correct activation sequence of the protection devices are checked.

Low and high gas pressure switches must be at the correct values to provide protection without unwanted trips.

The final pressures, settings, and test results must be recorded for future maintenance and diagnostics.
