Filling, flushing, and venting of a heat pump before first start-up

Before the heat pump is operated, the hydraulic circuit must be cleaned, filled, and properly vented.

Flushing

Removes metal filings, sludge, material residues, and other contaminants from new piping.

Filling

The system is filled to the appropriate pressure with all necessary valves in the correct position.

Venting

Air is removed from high points, manifolds, fan coils, and other parts of the network.

Before start-up

Pressure, flow rate, and filter cleanliness are confirmed before allowing the compressor to operate.
