What insulation measurement indicates

It shows if there is an electrical leakage between the windings and the motor frame.

When is it useful

  • After long periods of inactivity.
  • After exposure to moisture or cleaning.
  • After overheating.
  • When there is a suspicion of leakage to ground.

Attention

The motor must be isolated from inverters and sensitive electronics before performing a measurement with an insulation tester.
