Why it is used
Star-delta starting reduces the starting current in suitable three-phase motors.
How it works
The motor starts in star and, after a preset time, switches to delta.
Common faults
- Incorrect transition timing.
- Contactor failure.
- Incorrect interlocking.
- Motor not accelerating sufficiently before the transition.
Important
The application must be suitable for this starting method and the specific motor wiring.
