A gas train may have the correct pipe diameter but still show insufficient pressure at the burner if individual component losses are high.
Where losses occur
The filter, regulator, solenoid valves, meter, and other components cause a specific pressure drop when gas flows through them.
Flow rate dependency
Pressure drop increases as the flow rate increases. Therefore, the calculation must be performed at the maximum expected load.
Total available pressure
The inlet pressure must be sufficient so that, after all losses, the required pressure remains at the burner.
Correct selection
Kv/Cv values or manufacturer pressure drop curves are used for each component.
