DHW tank sensor: how it controls domestic hot water production

The DHW tank sensor informs the controller about the temperature of the stored water and determines when to start or stop charging.

Setpoint

The controller compares the actual temperature with the desired value.

Hysteresis

An activation and deactivation differential is used to avoid frequent cycling.

Incorrect sensor position

If the sensor is not placed correctly inside the immersion well, it may show a temperature different from the actual state of the tank.

Diagnosis

The reading is compared with an independent measurement and with the actual DHW outlet temperature.
