Humidity sensor and dew point control: how to protect cooling systems from condensation

In underfloor cooling or chilled surface systems, indoor humidity is a critical parameter.

Relative humidity

The humidity sensor allows the controller to calculate the dew point.

Dew point control

The supply temperature is maintained above the dew point with an appropriate safety margin.

Protection

If the humidity rises too high, the controller can increase the water temperature or temporarily stop the cooling.

Correct placement

The sensor must be located in a representative area and not near sources of moisture or direct drafts.
