The tightness test confirms that the network shows no gas loss before or after maintenance. It is a key part of the safe commissioning and maintenance of an installation.
Before the test
It is confirmed that the section is properly isolated and that instruments or devices not permitted to receive the test pressure have been protected or isolated.
Pressure and time
The test pressure and duration are determined by the design study, applicable standards, and installation instructions. Arbitrary values are not applied.
Monitoring
The pressure is monitored with an appropriate instrument, and potential fluctuations due to temperature are taken into account.
Acceptance criteria
If a pressure loss occurs or a leak is detected, the network is not put into operation until it is repaired and retested.
Recording
The date, pressure, duration, instrument used, and the result must be recorded.
