An organized checklist helps ensure that periodic inspections are performed consistently every time and that critical points are not overlooked.

Piping

Check for corrosion, mechanical wear, supports, paint, and transition points.

Connections

Threads, flanges, fittings, flexible connectors, and pressure taps are checked for leaks.

Valves

Check stems, packing, bodies, flanges, and, where required, internal tightness.

Regulators and vent lines

Check external connections, small-bore lines, and any unwanted presence of gas in vents.

Detectors

Verify calibration status, perform a bump test, and check the operation of alarms/interlocks.

Documentation

Each finding is recorded with location, date, severity, remedial action, and re-inspection date.
