What we measure

With a multimeter, we can check the battery voltage at rest and under load.

What good voltage means

It does not always mean the battery has good capacity. It may show correct voltage but collapse when current is demanded.

A more accurate check

This requires comparing voltage under load and, where necessary, a specific capacity or internal resistance test.
