Where do we encounter diodes and rectifiers?

In power supplies, motor brakes, chargers, and auxiliary circuits.

What do we check?

The diode must allow current in one direction and block it in the other.

What indicates a fault?

  • Conduction in both directions.
  • No conduction in either direction.

Important

For a reliable measurement, it may be necessary to isolate the component from the circuit.
