When relief valves or other devices need to discharge gas, the venting must be directed to a safe location via an appropriate vent line or vent stack.

Safe discharge point

The terminal point must not be located near windows, air intakes, ignition sources, or areas where gas might accumulate.

Line cross-section

A path that is too small or too long can create backpressure and affect the operation of the relief valve.

Water protection

The terminal point must be protected from rainwater, insects, and foreign objects without restricting free flow.

Maintenance inspection

The line is inspected for corrosion, supports, blockages, and any changes in the surrounding area that may affect safety.
