Gas meters, regulators, and other instruments have specific pressure limits. Proper selection concerns not only flow rate but also operating pressure.

Maximum allowable pressure

This is the maximum pressure that the equipment can accept according to its certification and the manufacturer's instructions.

Pressure class

The pressure class relates to the mechanical strength of the equipment and must be compatible with the network in which it is installed.

Normal operating pressure

Actual operation must remain within the permissible limits and take into account potential transient overpressures.

Proper selection

Matching connection dimensions is not enough. Pressure, temperature, flow rate, and compatibility with natural gas must all be checked.
