A simple pressure gauge is not enough to evaluate a deep vacuum. For this purpose, a micron gauge is used.
What it measures
It measures very low absolute pressures and indicates whether air and moisture have been removed.
Vacuum decay test
After isolating the vacuum pump, it is monitored whether the pressure remains stable or rises.
What a rise might mean
Possible moisture evaporating, a leak, or insufficient evacuation.
