When multiple two-way valves close, the differential pressure in the network can increase and the total flow to the heat pump can decrease.

Role of the bypass valve

It opens when the differential pressure exceeds the preset value and allows part of the flow to bypass the closed circuits.

Minimum flow protection

It can help maintain the minimum required water flow rate.

When it is not ideal

Excessive bypass can cause a very low ΔT and reduce system efficiency.

Correct adjustment

The adjustment must be coordinated with the circulator pump and the minimum flow requirements of the heat pump.
