Piping is the primary means of transporting gas within a residence. Material selection, routing, and support must be carried out based on the design and current technical requirements.
Permitted materials
Materials suitable for natural gas and for the specific installation method are used. Materials are not used simply because they are suitable for water or another application.
Routing
The piping must be as clean and accessible as possible, avoiding points where it may be subject to mechanical stress or remain inaccessible.
Supports
Supports must maintain the pipe in the correct position without deforming it. Poor support can transfer loads to fittings, flanges, or appliances.
Penetrations
When passing through walls or floors, appropriate construction details are applied to avoid damage and mechanical stress.
Post-installation inspection
Before gas is supplied, the required leak test is performed and proper routing and support are verified.
