What can happen if the neutral is lost

In a three-phase installation with single-phase loads, significantly different voltages can occur in individual circuits.

Risks

  • Overvoltage in electronic devices.
  • Burnt circuit boards.
  • Lighting instability.
  • Overheating of connections.

Prevention

Correct neutral cross-section, proper tightening, regular inspection, and where required, voltage or neutral monitoring.

Important

A loose neutral is a serious fault and must be addressed immediately.
