What is phase sequence

The sequence of the three phases determines the direction of rotation of a three-phase motor.

Why check it

After power supply changes or machine relocation, the phase sequence may change.

What can happen if it is wrong

  • A pump running in reverse.
  • A fan providing low airflow.
  • A machine moving in the wrong direction.
