For certain faults, the reset button does not restart the burner because the cause of the trip remains active or a safety interlock has not reset.

Active trip

First, check which alarm remains active. If a high limit, pressure switch, or emergency stop has not returned to the correct state, the BMS will not allow a reset.

Manual reset devices

Some safety devices require manual resetting on the component itself and not just from the burner display.

Safety relay or PLC

In installations with a safety relay or safety PLC, all conditions of the safety chain must be satisfied before a restart permission is granted.

Valve proving or leak test

If the valve proving system fails, the system may remain in lockout until the cause is resolved.

Electrical contact that did not reset

A limit switch or pressure switch may have mechanically reset but failed to change its electrical state.

Proper procedure

Do not bypass the safety chain to "unblock" the burner. Locate the active interlock and resolve the root cause.
