What is a PTC?
It is a temperature sensor placed inside the motor windings.
How it works
When the temperature exceeds the limit, its resistance increases sharply and the protection relay sends a trip command.
Why it is useful
It protects the motor from actual overheating, even when the current has not increased excessively.
