Underfloor heating systems can also be used for cooling, but this operation requires careful control of the surface temperature.

Dew point

If the floor temperature drops below the air's dew point, moisture may form on the surface.

Humidity sensors

In properly designed systems, temperature and relative humidity sensors are used to limit the supply temperature.

Does not always replace fan coils

Underfloor cooling primarily removes sensible heat and does not dehumidify the air like a fan coil.

Combination

In humid climates, fan coils are often used for dehumidification, while underfloor cooling is used as supplementary cooling.
