Underfloor heating operates efficiently with low water temperatures, which is particularly well-suited for heat pumps.
Low flow temperature
The floor has a large surface area, therefore it can deliver the required heat with lower temperature water.
COP improvement
The lower the required flow temperature, the easier the heat pump operates and usually the better the coefficient of performance.
Uniform space temperature
Heat is distributed over a large surface area, creating a more uniform thermal field.
Thermal inertia
Underfloor heating reacts more slowly to setpoint changes, therefore it requires a different control logic than a fan coil.
