When multiple fan coils are connected to the same network, the water is not automatically distributed equally. Without proper balancing, nearby circuits may receive excessive flow and distant ones may receive insufficient flow.

Symptoms of imbalance

Temperature differences between rooms, noise in the valves, and large deviations in the ΔT are common indications.

Balancing valves

These are used to limit the flow in each branch to the value required by the design.

Dynamic balancing

In variable flow systems, pressure-independent control valves can be used.

Final check

After the adjustment, flow rates, supply-return temperatures, and the performance of each fan coil are checked.
