What is the dew point
It is the temperature below which the water vapor in flue gases begins to turn into liquid.
Why does it concern us
If flue gases are overcooled inside an unsuitable chimney, condensates and corrosion may occur.
What influences the dew point
- Fuel type.
- Water vapor content of the flue gases.
- Combustion conditions.
Important
Low flue gas temperature is only beneficial when the system is designed for condensing operation.
