Thermostatic valve presetting – why the head alone is not enough

What is presetting

It limits the maximum flow that can pass through the valve, regardless of the position of the thermostatic head.

Why is it needed

Without presetting, radiators nearby may receive much more water than those further away.

Goal

Each radiator receives only the flow required for its thermal output.
