Why we measure voltage
The correct voltage is essential for the smooth operation of electrical loads.
In a single-phase circuit
We check the voltage between phase and neutral and, where necessary, in relation to the protective conductor.
In a three-phase circuit
We check the voltages between the phases and compare whether there are significant deviations.
What an incorrect measurement can indicate
Phase loss, loose connection, neutral problem, or supply problem.
