What it does

It opens when the differential pressure rises above a limit and allows part of the flow to return.

When it is useful

  • When many thermostatic valves close.
  • In systems with fixed-speed circulators.
  • When noise occurs due to overpressure.

Important

It does not replace proper circulator adjustment or hydraulic balancing.
