The outdoor temperature sensor is a key element of weather compensation.

What the controller does

As the outdoor temperature drops, the controller gradually increases the supply temperature according to the compensation curve.

When the weather is mild

The supply temperature decreases, helping the heat pump operate with a better COP.

Incorrect sensor placement

Direct sunlight, hot surfaces, or a sheltered location can result in an unrepresentative temperature reading.
