The flame monitoring system must provide a stable signal to the BMS. A weak or intermittent signal can cause unexplained flame failures, even when the flame appears normal.
Ionization electrode
Check cleanliness, position within the flame, the condition of the insulator, and the quality of the burner grounding.
UV scanner
Check if the sensor has a clear line of sight to the flame and if the observation window is clean.
Wiring
Moisture, worn insulation, poor grounding, or electrical noise can affect the signal.
Load correlation
If the signal drops only at low fire or high fire, examine whether the flame geometry changes and if the sensor remains within the correct detection area.
Value logging
Where the BMS displays a real-time flame signal value, it is useful to log it at different loads to identify gradual degradation.
